The Purple Sea is reached through a door from the Dark Highway. The name here is a misnomer; the map's color was changed after Version 0.020.
Throughout this mysterious area there are many static, sea-green ice floes in a shallow sea. Chie can climb into the water and walk around at a reduced speed in order to get to other islands. The area is relatively featureless, save for the wandering alien-like creatures and the cubical buildings that may be their civilization.
The Sea Slug Effect is recommended for this location, as it acts as the water quivalent of the Sneakers. Similarly, the Dog Effect (incidentally found right in the previous area) is needed in order to enter the Purple Tower.
Trivia[]
- This area may be a shout-out to Yume Nikki's Pink Sea, home of the infamous Uboa, which involved similar jagged islands and navigating through land and water to reach new islands. However, the Pink Sea used warping balloons instead of ladders to enter the water.
- A cursory Google search reveals sea slugs do, indeed, live in arctic waters.
